Bobby Riggs' Grandson Sentenced for Sexual Abuse

Daniel James Riggs, the grandson of tennis legend Bobby Riggs, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in the US for sexually abusing two minor girls.
Daniel James Riggs, 33, a tennis coach in Florida, was arrested in December 2024 and charged with enticing a minor and producing child pornography. A federal judge sentenced him to 240 months in prison after Riggs admitted to coercing the two minors into engaging in sexual activity with him.
Bobby Riggs, the defendant's grandfather, was a three-time Grand Slam world champion and former world number 1. He was known for his participation in the 'Battle of the Sexes' in 1973, where he faced Billie Jean King.
Riggs was also accused of sexually abusing one of the girls during trips to tournaments in the US and Brazil. He used anonymous social media accounts to approach his victims.
Upon his arrest, Riggs pleaded guilty to two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity.
