Emmanouilidou: "I stumbled at the start, but had a good acceleration"

Polyniki Emmanouilidou participated today (13/9) in the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, competing in the 100 meters. The Greek athlete finished fourth in her qualifying heat with a time of 11.36, failing to qualify for the semifinals.
After the race, Emmanouilidou spoke to Panagiotis Votsis and Athletiko, referring to her race and her goals for the 200 meters. "I had a pretty good acceleration, but I stumbled at the start," she stated.
Regarding her participation in the 2021 Olympic Games and her experience in Tokyo, Emmanouilidou emphasized: "It's really unbelievable. You enter the stadium and get lost."
Regarding her goals at the World Championships, the athlete stated: "My goal is to be able to run close to 11.00 at some point." She is now focusing on the 200 meters and breaking the Greek U23 record.
