EuroBasket 2025: Tourism Promotion Opportunity for Cyprus

Hosting the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 in Lemesos is a significant opportunity for tourism promotion in Cyprus, according to Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis.

The Group C matches will be held from August 28 to September 4 at the “Spyros Kyprianou” athletic center. Thousands of foreign visitors are expected, boosting tourism and local businesses.

Mr. Koumis highlighted the participation of five high-level national teams and the first historic participation of the Cyprus National Team in EuroBasket.

Lemesos is "living to the rhythm of EuroBasket," with the Fan Zone in the Old Port offering events and live viewing of the matches. Foreign journalists will visit Lefkara, experiencing Cypriot culture.

Sports tourism is a strategic priority for the government, with support for other international events as well.
