Fernando Santos: Fourth Consecutive Sacking, Out from Azerbaijan

Fernando Santos has been sacked as coach of the national team of Azerbaijan, marking his fourth consecutive dismissal in three years.

Azerbaijani media heavily criticized Santos for the team's performance and results. Under his leadership, Azerbaijan recorded only two draws and nine losses in 11 matches.

The 5-0 defeat by Iceland in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers proved to be the final straw.

Previously, Santos had been sacked from the Portugal National Team, Poland (after six matches), and Besiktas (after 16 matches).
