FIFPRO: "Football Needs Responsible Leadership"

PASP Executive President, Spyros Neofytides, participated in the FIFPRO meeting in Amsterdam, where concerns were raised about FIFA's management of global football.
FIFPRO reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of players, which, it was stated, are undermined by FIFA's commercial policies. According to FIFPRO, the overloaded match calendar, lack of recovery, extreme conditions, and disregard for players' social rights endanger their health.
FIFPRO believes that there cannot be a "new era" in football without addressing structural inequalities. FIFA is accused of ignoring the problems of players worldwide. The recent Club World Cup, held in extreme conditions, was mentioned as an example.
FIFPRO is not opposed to economic development but argues that it should be based on fairness and respect for players. The organization reaffirms its commitment to defending the rights of players and calls for responsible leadership and dialogue.
Associations from 58 countries participated in the meeting.
