Formula 1: When Can Norris Be Crowned Champion?

Lando Norris increased his lead in the drivers' championship after the Brazilian Grand Prix. The British driver is 24 points ahead of Oscar Piastri. Max Verstappen is in third place, 49 points behind Norris.

Norris cannot be crowned champion in Las Vegas. He will have to wait until Qatar or Abu Dhabi. To secure the title in Qatar, he must be at least 51 points ahead of Piastri after the race in America.

If Norris has a lead of at least 26 points leaving Qatar, he will be able to be crowned champion at the Abu Dhabi race.

Max Verstappen, although mathematically still in contention, is now unlikely to win his fifth title.
