Iranian Footballers Flee to Australia: Escape Video

Five members of the Iranian women's football team have sought asylum in Australia, while the remaining members returned to their homeland. According to reports, the five footballers escaped from the team's hotel, descending the emergency stairs and sending "SOS" signals with their mobile phone flashlights.
The lawyer for the five, Tina Korrdrostami, stated that the women left from the parking lot after going down the emergency stairs. The guards, realizing their absence, followed them but were unable to stop them.
Members of the team who returned to Iran expressed their desire to return to their families, despite reports of the war situation. At Sydney airport, the players waited for their flight to Kuala Lumpur, with several repeating that they wanted to return to their homeland.
Upon arrival in Sydney, the players were transferred to the international terminal, where they allegedly sent an SOS signal with their mobile phone flashlights again. At the airport, there was a delay in passport control, while 14 police officers monitored the team.
A passenger on the flight, Courtney, reported that the captain made a moving announcement about the situation in the world, while the players remained united and calm.
