Cyprus Women's Team Loses to Greece in Billie Jean Cup Opener

The Cyprus Women's Tennis National Team lost to Greece with a score of 3-0 in the opening match of the Billie Jean King Cup for Group II of the Euro-African zone. The match took place in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cyprus is participating in group A of the tournament, along with Greece, Austria, Finland, and the host country. Group B includes Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa.

In the first day's matches, Olga Danilova lost to Martha Matoula with 2-0 (6-2, 6-1), while Despoina Papamichail defeated Raluca Serban with 2-1 (1-6, 6-4, 6-0). In doubles, Elena Korokozidi/Matoula defeated the Cypriots Danilova/Nina Andronikou with 2-1 (3-6, 6-2, 10-2).
