Karamarinov: Cyprus is safe for athletic events

The President of the European Athletics Association, Dobromir Karamarinov, stated that Cyprus is one of the safest countries for holding athletic events. The statement was made after a meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.

The meeting took place ahead of the 25th European Throwing Cup, which will be held on the weekend of March 14-15 at the GSP stadium. The President of KOEAS, Periklis Markaris, also attended the meeting.

Mr. Karamarinov emphasized that athletes from 34 countries feel happy and safe in Cyprus. He also expressed his expectation for a great competition with excellent results and wished good luck to the Cypriot and all participating athletes.

Periklis Markaris highlighted the importance of the event and the vote of confidence in Cyprus from the European Athletics Association and its members.
