Cyprus FA: Questions over Georgiou's Ignorance of Vakis' Role
Share on:

Statements by Filippos Georgiou, Pafos representative at the Cyprus FA, raise questions about his awareness of Foivos Vakis' new role as head of the arbitration committee. Mr. Georgiou stated on SPOR FM 95 that he was unaware of Mr. Vakis' appointment.

Specifically, he mentioned: "I didn't know about this, but I'm not negative because he's experienced and has been there for years. I won't be negative because it's important for an experienced member to be there." Despite his positive statements, the question arises as to how the vice-president of the board and executive committee of the Cyprus FA was not informed.

The new president of the Cyprus FA, Haris Loizidis, had stated that Mr. Vakis would chair the new arbitration committee. The question is whether Mr. Loizidis made this announcement without informing the federation's vice-president.
