Cypriot Delegation in Brussels for European Special Olympics Day

A delegation from the Cyprus Special Olympics Federation departed for Brussels on Tuesday, September 23rd, to celebrate European Special Olympics Day. The two-day event took place on September 24th and 25th, 2025, at the European Parliament.

The delegation included Ms. Eleni Rossidou, Mr. Pavlos Antoniadis, and athlete Petros Papasozomenos. During the events, the delegation held meetings with Cypriot Members of the European Parliament to inform them about the Special Olympics institution and the activities of the Cyprus Federation.

The event highlighted the role of the Special Olympics in promoting the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and is part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the European Week of Sport.
