Cyprus participates in the World Games in Chengdu

Cyprus is represented at the World Games in Chengdu, China, an event for sports not included in the Olympic Games. Athlete Michalis Michaelides will participate in MotoSurf.

At a press conference in Agios Tychonas, psychologist Elena Avraam referred to the athletic tradition of the Michaelides family, with his father, Lakis Michaelides, being a judo champion and his sister, Zanet, a Cypriot champion in the same sport.

Michalis Michaelides expressed his honor to represent Cyprus at the Games. His father, Lakis Michaelides, emphasized the importance of the athlete's support team. The opening ceremony took place with the motto "Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders" and included 3,928 athletes from 114 countries.
