Michele Kang: First Female President of Lyon

American businesswoman Michele Kang took over as head of Lyon today (June 30), replacing the resigning John Textor. This move aims to overturn the DNCG's decision to relegate the club to Ligue 2.

Michele Kang is the first woman to lead Lyon and the second-largest shareholder behind Textor. She has also been the president and owner of the club's women's team since May 2023.

She will form a joint executive team with German Michael Gerlinger, former Bayern Munich player, who has been appointed general manager.

The 66-year-old Kang was also appointed president and CEO of Eagle Football Group.
