Omonia FC: Strong Reaction Regarding Janson Case

Omonia Nicosia FC has issued a statement regarding the case of its former sporting director, Jesper Janson, expressing strong dissatisfaction with the developments.
In its statement, Omonia states that Jesper Janson was dismissed from his duties on 02/02/2024 due to a serious breach of his employment contract, specifically, a clear violation of the duty of trust.
The team claims that Janson, while responsible for transfers, proposed a player with a cost close to €1,000,000 for three years, while the management achieved a cost reduction of €300,000 through the player's official representative, revealing that the additional amount would go to a middleman.
Omonia alleges that Janson did not provide explanations for negotiating with a middleman instead of the official representative and for the amount of commission requested by the middleman.
On 10/07/2024, Janson appealed to the Committee for the Resolution of Disputes (ΕΕΔ) of the CFA, seeking compensation of €300,000. The ΕΕΔ ruled in favor of Janson on 10/07/2025 with €360,000, without examining the merits of the case, but due to the lack of a hearing.
Omonia has filed an appeal with CAS and a request for revision of the amount, arguing that the ΕΕΔ did not take into account Janson's income after his dismissal and that the ΕΕΔ itself did not give Omonia the right to be heard before issuing a decision on the final amount.
The team is considering additional legal measures and states that it will not allow anyone to harm its interests.
