Gamraoui Wins Gold in Hammer Throw at EYOF «Skopje 25»

Great success for Cyprus at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) «Skopje 25»! Alexandros Gamraoui won the gold medal in the hammer throw with a performance of 78.32m.
The athlete of the KOE mission left behind opponents from traditional powers, proving Cyprus' talent in throws. The Greek athlete Sotiris Gentekos finished in second place.
G. Chrysostomou, President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, stated that this is a historic moment and they continue to support the new generation.
This is the second medal for Cyprus at the EYOF «Skopje 25», after Marina Hatzikosta's bronze in discus throwing, raising the country's total collection to 21 medals. It is the sixth gold medal in Cyprus' history in EYOF events and the first in the hammer throw.
