Climate Activists Throw Paint on Sagrada Familia

Climate activists threw red paint on the facade of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona to protest government inaction on the climate crisis. The organization Futuro Vegetal claimed responsibility for the act.

In a video posted online, members of the organization are seen being arrested after throwing paint on a column of the cathedral, shouting slogans for 'climate justice'. The organization denounces the lack of measures to address the impacts of climate change, particularly regarding wildfires.

Spain faced devastating wildfires in August, with thousands of acres destroyed. The government linked the fires to climate change. Futuro Vegetal has carried out similar protests in the past, including protests in museums.
