On Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 04:00 AM, clocks will be turned back one hour to 03:00 AM, marking the start of winter time.

The time change is implemented in all countries of the European Union with the aim of saving energy. Although its abolition has been discussed, there has been no final decision.

The Ministry of Transport reminds that the application of summer time ends, according to Directive 2000/84 of the European Parliament and the Council.

The idea of changing the time to save energy was expressed by Benjamin Franklin in 1784. The first implementation was by Germany in 1916, during World War I.

The time change will give us an extra hour of sleep, but experts emphasize that the body needs time to adjust.
