EMY Issues Emergency Weather Alert for Storm "Pi" – Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued an emergency weather alert for storm "Pi", which is expected to affect Greece with heavy rains, thunderstorms, and local hailstorms on October 2nd and 3rd, 2025.

Thursday (October 2, 2025): Strong phenomena will affect the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Macedonia, Western Sterea, Western and Southern Peloponnese, Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Central and Eastern Sterea (including Attica), the rest of the Peloponnese, Western Crete, Evia, and the Sporades. In the evening, the islands of the Eastern Aegean and Eastern Macedonia will be affected, and Thrace late at night.

Friday (October 3, 2025): The phenomena will continue in the Dodecanese, Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the Eastern Aegean. Particularly intense phenomena are expected in the Ionian Islands, Western and Southern Peloponnese, Central Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the Dodecanese.

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection advises citizens to take self-protection measures, such as securing objects, ensuring gutters are clear, and avoiding crossing streams.

The 112 emergency service sent a warning message to residents of the Ionian Islands, Achaia, Ilia, and Messinia.
