Greek Firefighters Assist Spain in Battling Wildfires

Greek firefighters are assisting Spain in battling wildfires. Twenty experienced forest firefighters from the Special Forest Operations Unit (EMODE) have been deployed to the Genestoso, Asturias region to support firefighting efforts.

The deployment followed a request from Spanish authorities to the European Civil Protection Mechanism, which was accepted by Greece. The Greek firefighters, with specialized training, are operating alongside their Spanish colleagues.
