Everest Rescue Operation Underway After Blizzard – Hundreds Stranded

Rescue operations are ongoing on Mount Everest, as hundreds of climbers and trekkers remain stranded following a severe blizzard. The incident occurred on the eastern slopes of the mountain, in Tibet.
One person has died, and more than 200 people are trapped at an altitude of over 4,900 meters. The blizzard began on Friday and intensified over the weekend, causing significant difficulties for rescue efforts.
Dong Shuchang, a photographer who was in the area, described the experience as nightmarish, mentioning that his team was forced to take refuge in a hotel in Kundang. Chen Geshuang, a member of the same team, emphasized the extreme nature of the blizzard.
So far, 350 people have been safely transported to the village of Kundang, while authorities state that they are in contact with those who remain stranded.
