FAA: Air India Boeing 787 Crash Not Due to Technical Issue

The head of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the recent plane crash in India, involving an Air India Boeing 787, does not appear to have been caused by a mechanical failure or unintended alteration in the fuel control system.
"We can say with great confidence that it does not appear to be a mechanical problem in the Boeing's fuel control system," said Brian Bedford to reporters, adding that FAA experts thoroughly examined this possibility.
The air tragedy occurred on June 12 when an Air India Boeing 787 crashed seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad in northwestern India en route to London, killing 241 passengers and 19 people on the ground.
