Finland: Reindeer Deaths Due to Record Heatwave

A heatwave with record temperatures in Finland has caused the deaths of reindeer, according to ΚΥΠΕ. The Finnish Meteorological Institute confirmed a 22-day heatwave, with temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius, the longest since 1961.
Anne Ollila, Director of the National Reindeer Herders' Association, stated that droughts and wildfires have affected the reindeer. Many have died, as they are unable to regulate their body temperature.
In Rovaniemi, the temperature reached 26 degrees Celsius.
