Deadly Tornado in Brazil: At Least 5 Killed

At least five people have died and over 400 were injured after a tornado struck the city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu in the state of Paraná, southern Brazil. The extreme weather event caused widespread destruction, leaving hundreds injured and significant material damage.
The Civil Defense of Paraná confirmed the death of five people and the injury of 432. Strong winds, with speeds of 180 to 250 km/h, completely destroyed homes and overturned cars.
Firefighters and health services provided assistance to the injured, while searches continue for two missing people. The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior, stated that security forces are on alert. The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is working to provide humanitarian aid and rebuild the area.
The National Institute of Meteorology has issued a storm warning for Paraná and other southern states of Brazil. Scientists link the increase in extreme weather events to climate change.
