Guinea: At Least 15 Dead in Landslide

At least 15 people have died in a landslide in the suburbs of Conakry, the capital of Guinea, following heavy rainfall. The ground collapsed in the Maneah community, in the capital's periphery.
Soldiers and members of the civil protection service are searching for survivors in the rubble. Ten people were injured and transferred to a hospital in the neighboring city of Coyah, according to the National Agency for Emergency and Humanitarian Disaster Management (ANGUCH).
Minister of Territorial Planning Mory Condé stated that local residents are assisting in the rescue operations. Landslides are a common occurrence in Guinea during the rainy season, with approximately 50 deaths recorded since the beginning of the season.
