Japan: Extremely Bright Fireball Lights Up the Sky

A remarkably bright fireball streaked across the sky in western Japan, surprising residents and amateur astronomers alike. Experts have confirmed that it was a natural phenomenon.
The event was observed yesterday, Tuesday, shortly after 11:00 PM (local time, 5:00 PM Cyprus time). The sphere of light was visible across a radius of hundreds of kilometers.
Yoshihiko Hamahata, a driver in Miyazaki Prefecture, told NHK television that he saw a white light descending from the sky, so bright that he could make out the outlines of houses.
Toshihisa Maeda, director of the Sendai Space Museum, stated that it was a fireball, an exceptionally bright meteor, which likely fell into the Pacific Ocean.
According to NASA, objects that create fireballs can exceed one meter in size.
