A tragic incident in Indonesia where at least 7 people died after a landslide at a huge landfill. The incident occurred in Bantargebang, near Jakarta.

According to authorities, the collapse was caused by heavy rainfall in the area. Rescue teams recovered a total of seven bodies, while six people were rescued.

The landfill in Bantargebang is one of the largest waste disposal sites in the world, covering more than 1,100 acres and housing approximately 55 million tons of waste.

Indonesian authorities are considering measures to improve waste management, as most landfills are expected to be saturated by 2028. There are plans to create waste incineration units to generate electricity.
