Strong 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake off the Coast of India

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded in the region of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India, with no tsunami warning issued, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake was recorded at 00:12 (local time) in the sea area 259 kilometers northwest of Sabang, in the province of Aceh, western Indonesia. Aceh suffered the heaviest blow from the earthquake and tsunami of 2004.
