California Wildfires: Evacuations Ordered as Fires Rage

Devastating wildfires are raging in California, leading to mandatory evacuations. The Canyon Fire, northwest of Los Angeles, has burned approximately 20,000 acres by Friday morning.
Authorities report the fire is completely out of control (0% contained). More than 2,700 people have been ordered to evacuate, while another 14,000 have been given evacuation warnings. Santa Clarita is on high alert.
The Canyon Fire is one of many active wildfires in the state. The largest active fire is the Gifford Fire, which has destroyed nearly 400,000 acres.
High temperatures, exceeding 37 degrees Celsius, and drought are hindering firefighting efforts. So far, no injuries or damage to homes have been reported.
