Perseid Meteor Shower Peak on August 12-13

The Troodos Observatory announces that the peak of the Perseid meteor shower will occur on the night between August 12 and 13.

During peak activity, approximately 50 to 75 meteors per hour are expected to be visible under ideal conditions. However, observation this year will be more difficult due to the presence of the Moon in a waning gibbous phase with approximately 92% illumination.
