Ecologists Report Health Hazard in Ayia Varvara, Paphos

The Cyprus Green Party is reporting a health hazard at the green point in Ayia Varvara, Paphos district. According to their announcement, dead animals and a large volume of waste are present.

They state that the situation is a direct threat to public health and an affront to civilization. They point out that the competent authorities were informed about the situation about a year ago by the regional coordinator, Mr. Andreas Evlavis.

The Green Party emphasizes that the presence of dead animals, combined with the stench, creates sources of infection. They describe the area as an uncontrolled landfill without any level of hygiene and safety.

The Green Party raises questions about the managers of the green point, the reaction of the EOA, and the measures to be taken by the Department of Environment to restore the site. They expect immediate restoration of the area.
