Papua New Guinea: Magnitude 6 Earthquake off New Britain

A magnitude 6 earthquake struck off the northeastern coast of New Britain, the largest island in the Bismarck Archipelago in Papua New Guinea, today.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the epicenter of the earthquake is located 77 kilometers northeast of the city of Kokopo, and the focal depth is estimated at 8 kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or significant material damage so far.
