Green Light for First Phase of Works at Akamas National Forest Park

The Department of Environment has given the green light for the first phase of works at the Akamas National Forest Park, confirming full compliance with environmental conditions.

Following an assessment, the Department of Environment found that the conditions set in the Special Ecological Assessment Report (March 2024) had been implemented and formulated observations for the start of the works.

The report took into account the positions of the Department of Forests, the consultant, the competent Bodies, the expertise of Departments such as the Geological Survey Department and the Water Development Department, as well as the positions expressed in the Ad-hoc committee on April 16, 2025.

To ensure the implementation of the conditions, a monitoring mechanism will be established with an environmental inspector who will be on site daily.
