Grand Canyon Wildfire: Blaze Rages for a Month, 500,000 Acres Burned

A major wildfire has been raging for the fourth week in the Grand Canyon, destroying nearly 500,000 acres of natural vegetation. The fire started on July 4th due to lightning and has led to the closure of the park's northern section.
More than 1,000 firefighters are working to contain the spread of the fire. Despite the low humidity, firefighters have managed to partially control the spread. The fire, named 'Dragon Bravo Fire,' has been contained by 13%.
The northern part of the park has been closed for the rest of the season until October 15th. The southern part remains accessible. The fire has destroyed 50 to 80 building infrastructures, including the Grand Canyon Lodge.
Firefighting efforts are more challenging this year due to cuts in forest protection services.
