Grand Canyon Wildfire: Uncontrolled for a Month

A wildfire has been raging uncontrolled for a month in the Grand Canyon, one of the most famous natural parks in the American West. It has ravaged nearly 500,000 acres of vegetation and forced authorities to close the park's highly touristic northern section.
The fire, caused by lightning on July 4th – the US national holiday – is being fought day and night, on the ground and from the air, by over a thousand firefighters.
