Mediterranean Sea Records Record June Temperature

The Mediterranean Sea recorded its highest surface temperature ever for the month of June on Sunday, reaching an average of 26.01 degrees Celsius. The data comes from the European Copernicus program and was analyzed by Météo-France.
Cimbo Zinaldo, a researcher at the Center for Satellite Meteorological Studies (CEMS) in Lannion (Côtes-d'Armor), stated that such a high temperature has never been recorded for June across the entire Mediterranean basin. The current average temperature is 3 degrees higher than the 1991-2020 period, with fluctuations exceeding 4 degrees near the French and Spanish coasts.
