Anti-Whaling Activists Clash with Industrial Ship in Antarctica

A collision occurred in Antarctica between a ship belonging to the group of anti-whaling activist Paul Watson and an industrial fishing vessel. The incident highlights the tension surrounding krill fishing.

The ship's operator reported that the 'Bandero' came within centimeters of the diesel tank of the Norwegian-flagged 'Antarctic Sea', which could cause serious environmental damage.

Krill, a shrimp-like organism, is a staple in the diet of whales and plays a significant role in regulating sea temperature. The growing demand for krill in nutritional supplements and animal feed has intensified disputes between environmental organizations and fishing industries.
