WWF: Burned Areas in Greece Already Above Average

According to WWF, the burned areas in Greece are already above the average of the last twenty years. In just two weeks, more than 130,000 acres of burned land have been recorded.
The fires affected areas such as Chios, Filippiada, Zakynthos, Achaia, Keratea-Palaia Fokaia, and Chelidoni Ileias.
WWF points out that we are in the middle of the fire season and the situation is worrying. The fires have caused damage to human property, threatened the lives of animals, and there have been human losses and injuries.
The number of burned areas is based on initial estimates from the EMSCopernicus system.
