Aalborg Zoo in Denmark has sparked controversy by appealing to the public to donate healthy small pets, such as chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, to be used as food for its carnivorous animals.

According to The Guardian, the zoo announced that the animals would be euthanized by trained staff and then used to feed animals such as the European lynx. The park argues that this practice promotes the well-being and natural behavior of the animals.

The park's deputy director, Pia Nielsen, stated that this practice has been in place for years and is common in Denmark. The announcement has provoked mixed reactions on social media, with some criticizing it and others supporting it.
