The incident occurred at a school in Agrinio. The 9-year-old's mother reported that the school principal initially claimed the medication was an "antibiotic." She also claims that the school sent an email to parents denying the incident.

The medication consumed by the 9-year-old was Abilify (aripiprazole), an antipsychotic drug used to treat schizophrenia.
