Search for Missing 59-Year-Old British Woman in Kavala

The search is ongoing for a missing 59-year-old British tourist, Michele Ann Joy Bourda, who disappeared from Ofrynio beach in Kavala. The woman went missing on Friday afternoon (1/8).

The 59-year-old was vacationing in the area with her husband, who is a Greek citizen. They were reportedly staying in a village in Serres.

Her husband reported her disappearance, stating that she vanished from her sunbed while he was sleeping. When he woke up, his wife was gone. He is distraught, as his wife had previously disappeared in London in 2020 and has health issues.

Authorities have issued a Silver Alert and are conducting searches in the area, with the participation of the Coast Guard, police, and volunteers. Some eyewitnesses reported seeing the woman swimming or walking away from the beach.

The tourist is described as a woman of 1.73 m, slim, with blue eyes and shoulder-length hair. Her personal belongings were found on the beach.
