Elevator Malfunction at Gennimatas Hospital: Employee Safely Removed

An incident occurred at Gennimatas Hospital on Sunday (August 10) when an elevator malfunctioned. According to reports, the elevator began to descend as an employee was attempting to exit on the third floor.
The employee, a radiology technologist, was called to perform an urgent X-ray. Upon arriving on the third floor, the elevator car began to move downwards. With the assistance of a patient escort, she managed to safely exit without injury.
The administration of the "GNA GENNIMATAS" Hospital announced that the elevator was immediately immobilized for safety reasons and a full technical inspection is being carried out. An internal investigation (EDE) has also been ordered to investigate the incident. According to the hospital, the last maintenance of the elevator took place on July 19, 2025, and it has all the necessary certificates.
