Athens – Sounion: Car Falls into Ravine – Driver Seriously Injured

A driver was seriously injured and transported to the hospital after a car fell into a 12-meter ravine on Athens – Sounion Avenue, at the area known as “Karamanlis' Holes”.
The incident occurred shortly before 12:00 noon when the 60-year-old driver, under unclear circumstances, lost control of her vehicle at the 31st kilometer and fell into the ravine.
15 firefighters with four vehicles, as well as EL.AS. forces rushed to the scene. An EKAV rescuer provided first aid to the injured driver, who was conscious, before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the authorities. The car sustained severe material damage.
