Woman Attempts Self-Immolation in Front of Aigli Zappeion

A 67-year-old woman attempted self-immolation in front of the Aigli Zappeion in Athens, shortly after 10:00 AM on Wednesday.

Presidential Guard soldiers who were present at the scene extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. The woman was transported to a hospital with burns.

Initial reports indicate that the 67-year-old is facing psychological issues.
