39 Migrants Rescued off Kalamata Coast

An operation to locate and rescue 39 migrants took place on Sunday night in the sea area 58 nautical miles south of Kalamata, coordinated by the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center (EKSED).
The migrants were on a boat and were spotted by a Coast Guard vessel, which proceeded to rescue them. The operation went smoothly, as weather conditions were favorable, with northwest winds of intensity 2-3 Beaufort.
The rescued individuals are being transported to the port of Kalamata.
