The Mixed Jury Court of Patras sentenced a 39-year-old to two life sentences and an additional 13 years for the murder and rape of his 11-year-old niece in Ilia.
The 39-year-old was found guilty of intentional homicide, rape of a minor, abduction, illegal possession of weapons, and use of weapons against 11-year-old Vasiliki. The court did not recognize any mitigating circumstances.
The crime was committed on June 9, 2024, when the 39-year-old and the 11-year-old left the village of Myrtia together. The case was solved by the Pyrgos Security Department, which utilized video footage and the confession of the accused.
Initially, the 39-year-old claimed that he attempted to have intercourse with the minor, but the forensic report refuted his claim. When the 11-year-old threatened to reveal what had happened, the perpetrator fatally injured her with a screwdriver.
