Kavala: Husband speaks out about missing British woman

The 66-year-old husband of 59-year-old Michele Ann Joy Bourda, who disappeared on Ofrynio beach in Kavala, has spoken for the first time about the incident. He stated that his wife had psychological problems.
Chris Bourda, speaking to the Daily Mail, said that his wife seemed happy on the day of her disappearance. They had gone for a swim and then ordered crepes. He fell asleep, and when he woke up, his wife was gone.
The husband of the missing British woman stated that the police arrived at the scene two hours later. He also complained that he did not see any police officers on the beach on the day of the disappearance.
Mr. Bourda searched for his wife on the coast, in bushes, olive groves, empty houses, construction sites, and in the mountains, without success. He also filed a complaint with the British Embassy in Athens, as he believes that the police in Kavala did not do enough.
Mr. Bourda, a pharmacist by profession, said that his wife suffered from episodes of depression and anxiety for several years. She had disappeared before in London due to depression.
The British Foreign Office informed Mr. Bourda that a special team of volunteers, trained to help find missing persons, would soon arrive in the area.
