Greek Police Dismantle Cocaine Trafficking Ring Operating in Europe

A transnational criminal organization involved in trafficking cocaine across Europe, including Greece, has been dismantled by the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Organized Crime Directorate.
During operations on August 28th, two Greek nationals were arrested in Northern Greece, and three individuals were apprehended in Germany. Two additional individuals are implicated in the case, along with others yet to be identified.
The investigation revealed that the organization used international transport trucks, registered in Bulgaria, to transport narcotics from Spain, either by carrying legitimate goods or utilizing hidden compartments.
The 53-year-old coordinated the international transports, while the 66-year-old transported the substances. The 52-year-old provided trucks, and the 57-year-old participated in the transport. The 28-year-old and 27-year-old received the narcotics.
The operations resulted in the seizure of 300 kilograms of cocaine in Germany and smaller quantities of cocaine and cannabis in Greece. The organization's illegal profits exceed €5,000,000.
The arrested individuals have a prior history with law enforcement for similar offenses.
