Cocaine Ring Busted with Greek Dockworkers

Greek authorities have dismantled a cocaine trafficking ring involving Greek dockworkers and Albanian traffickers. The operation culminated in the arrest of two dockworkers who were caught receiving bags of cocaine from a container that had arrived from Ecuador at the port of Piraeus.
ā¬200,000 Fee per Container
The drug route originated in Ecuador, where dockworkers facilitated the loading of narcotics into containers. In Greece, the dockworkers received the goods and handed them over to Albanian traffickers for a fee of ā¬200,000 per container.
Operation and Pursuit
Following the arrival of the shipment, two dockworkers approached the container and retrieved bags of cocaine, which they loaded into a Porsche. A chase by the authorities ensued.
Mastermind with a Past
The alleged mastermind of the ring is a 35-year-old Greek man, known from previous drug cases. He had developed a network of contacts with Albanian traffickers. The dockworkers had distinct roles, such as managing cameras and scheduling shifts.
Investigations are ongoing to locate the Albanian traffickers and to determine whether the network was involved in other shipments.
