Illegal Gambling Ring Busted: €16 Million in Profits

A Greek illegal gambling ring operating as a "pyramid" has been dismantled by the Greek FBI, with profits reaching €16 million over eight years.

According to protothema.gr, 17 people have been arrested. They were operating in 37 businesses, organizing games of chance through unlicensed online platforms.

The arrested individuals are accused of money laundering from criminal activities and personal data breaches.

The members of the ring were divided into groups, with the "agents" having access to at least 10 unlicensed platforms and importing uncertified VLT (Video Lottery Terminal) gaming machines.
