The Hellenic Police (ELAS) has issued a statement regarding the arrests and incidents that occurred at the port of Rhodes upon the arrival of Israeli tourists on July 28th.

According to the statement, police forces intervened to prevent incidents and ensure public order, repeatedly addressing recommendations to the gathered individuals.

During the removal attempt, some of the gathered individuals resisted and attempted to break through the police cordon, leading to 14 detentions, of which 8 were converted into arrests.

Of those arrested, 3 are accused of violence against employees and judicial officials and of violating the anti-racism law, 3 for disobedience, and 2 for violence against employees and judicial officials.

ELAS emphasizes that it acted within the framework of legality and with respect for the constitutional rights of citizens.

Following a request for medical care, the police responded positively, but the request was withdrawn by the detainees.
